happy st patricks day

St. Patrick´s day is a cultural and religious celebration on the 17th of March. Saint Patrick was born in Britain. When he was 16, Irish raiders capture him and transported to Ireland where he was captive for six years, living a solitary life as a shepherd. Then, he became a devout Christian.

A voice told him to leave Ireland to escape to Britain. After 15 years of study, Patrick was ordained as a priest and sent to Ireland to convert the Irish to Christianity. Nowadays, St. Patrick is the patron of Ireland.

Celebrations across the world usually include public parades, parties and festivals. People dress up in green clothes and wear shamrocks.

The shamrock, pot-of-gold and leprechauns are also associated with St. Patrick’s Day.
